FAQ

Does creating an account mean I can take trips?

No. You can take trips only after our team approves you and at least one of your vehicles.

Why is my older vehicle not accepted?

In 2026 we accept only the latest three model years: 2025, 2026 and 2027. This is a Chic Rides requirement based on model year, not purchase date.

I uploaded my insurance. Why is the vehicle still pending?

A reviewer must confirm the coverage amount, the dates, that the policy lists your vehicle, and that Chic Rides is named as Certificate Holder and Additional Insured.

How much insurance do I need?

At least $1,000,000 CSL Automobile Liability per accident. Sprinter vans need at least $1,500,000 CSL. TLC minimums also apply.

Can I register more than one vehicle?

Yes. Each vehicle is reviewed and approved on its own.

Do you need my Social Security number?

Chic Rides pays chauffeurs as independent contractors and files a Form 1099, so we need a tax ID on a W-9. You choose: your Social Security Number, or the EIN of your business. It is encrypted before it is stored, only the last 4 digits are shown, and every view of the full number is logged.

Is a background check required?

Only when Chic Rides requests one for your account. If we do, you get an email invitation and complete it on our screening provider's secure page.
